Other award recipients included Dr. Shawn Lawrence and Dr. Mary Ann Burg. In addition, Dr. Ana Leon and Dr. Julie Steen both had funded awards from the Florida Institute for Child Welfare. Congratulations to all of our faculty scholars.
At the annual celebration of social work month, Dr. Sophia Dziegielewski and Dr. Mary Dillon both were awarded social work educators of the year by the Central Florida Unit of NASW. Congratulations to both of these outstanding faculty members.
The School graduated 112 MSW students this spring and 142 BSW students. Fourteen of the MSW graduates completed the Military Certificate Program. Of the 142 BSW graduates, 15 were Title IVE Child Welfare Scholars.
We also graduated 10 BSW students with Certficates in Aging Studies and 8 BSW students with Certificates in Non-Profit Management.
Finally, site visitors from the Council on Social Work Education visited with us in early April. The site visit reports were highly positive and we look forward to a successful outcome for reaffirmation at the October Commission on Accreditation Meeting.
